Materials Needed:
- Sandtastick® Air Dry Modeling Clay - White
- Sculpey® Clay Starter 3pc Tool Kit
- Popsicle Stick
- Small Bristle Brush
- Water Dish
- Pipe Cleaners
- Foam Hearts
- Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brush
Step 1
Body
Roll any of these form combinations to create the body of the desired bug.
Step 2
Connect
Score and slip the forms together.
Step 3
Eyes & Mouth
Indent or add additional clay pieces to create the bug’s eyes, and mouth.
Step 4
Antennas
Cut pipe cleaners to the desired length and insert into the clay to create the bug’s antennas.
Step 5
Legs
Pipe cleaners can also be added to create the bug’s legs.
Step 6
Wings
Add additional clay in the form of a heart onto the bug’s body to create the wings. Or use pre-made foam heart shapes. Use a popsicle stick to indent a slot into the clay before inserting the foam hearts.
Step 7
Dry
Allow the clay to dry 24 hours before painting.
Step 8
Paint
Use the acrylic paints to paint the clay sculptures.
