Not yet rated Write a review

PF is a traditional red earthenware clay body, suitable for wheel-throwing, shaping, and modeling. It is a high quality and polyvalent clay, very popular for its fineness and excellent plasticity.

Its coefficients of thermal expansion are ideal for standard pottery glazes, in both single and twice firing processes. Incredible results in reducing atmosphere can be obtained (metallic reflection technique).

It is available in extruded body (moist form), in a 27.6 lb. package.

The colour samples may show temperatures outside the recommended range to provide a broader view, but these are pieces fired under controlled conditions. FAQ for PF clay, with answers provided by SIO-2®

I purchased your SIO-2® PF clay. It was fired at 05 bisque. Can I fire it at 05 for glazing? Or do you suggest something different?
Firing range for PF is Cone 07-04. That’s ideally for bisque and also for glazing. However, the suitable glaze firing temperature is indicated on the label of the glaze used. In other words, follow the glaze instructions and just be sure to use a low-fire glaze (04 maximum cone).
