STEP 4  Using the plastic bowl as a mold, carefully drape the slab into the bowl and smooth out any wrinkles with your fingers or the Clay Modeling Tools. Slightly dampening your fingers helps to smooth out any wrinkles.

STEP 11  Continue to press items into the bowl.  You can use the modeling tools to define shapes or touch up any lines that may have been missed with the imprinting.

STEP 13  Allow clay bowl to air dry within the plastic bowl form.

STEP 14  The clay bowl will shrink slightly when dried. You can tell the bowl is fully dried when it releases itself from the form and is no longer cool to the touch.

STEP 15  Once dry, remove clay bowl from molding bowl.  File edges smooth with an emery board.

STEP 16  You now have an awesome custom made decorative fossil bowl! You may leave the bowl unfinished, or you can also finish it in a variety of ways. Feel free to make it your own! For this design I used: Neon and Black acrylic paint, Glow in the Dark Mod Podge and Mod Podge Extreme Glitter in Black and Hologram.

*This bowl is for decorative/display purposes only and is not intended for use with food.
