Supplies Needed:
- SIO-2® Argila Natural Pottery Clay, White
- ACTIVA Clay Roller Kit

- Clay hole punch or straw
- Cornstarch
- Water bowl
- Sponge
- Paint brush
- Glaze
- String
- Scissors
Step 1
Prepare Clay
Roll a 1/4” slab of clay using clay roller kit.
Step 2
Plaque Shape
Place the shape cutter on top of the clay slab.
Firmly press the clay cutter into the slab of clay.
Remove the cutter and the excess clay from around the clay shape.
Step 3
Hanging Holes
Insert hole making tool into the top edge of the right and left side of the clay shape.
Step 4
Design
Sprinkle cornstarch over the clay slab.
Layout the sign design with the stamps.
Once the design is complete, turn the stamps over and press them into the clay one at a time.
Gently rock the stamps back and forth before removing them from the clay.
Dust off the excess cornstarch with a stiff brush.
Step 5
Dry
Allow clay to fully dry. Drying time will vary depending on temperature and humidity.
Step 6
Bisque Fire
Fire clay in the kiln to cone 04.
Step 7
Glaze
Apply glaze according to manufacturer’s directions.
*NOTE: These samples were glazed with a base coat of Mayco’s FN-301 - Marshmallow White, with Stroke and Coat glazes on top.

Step 8
Glaze Fire
Fire the glazed piece in the kiln. Follow manufacturer’s firing guidelines.
Firing range: 1778-1931ºF / Cone 06-04
Step 9
Hang
Tie a piece of string through the holes at the top of the plaque, and hang in desired location.
