22 lb (10 kg)
Cellulain® is a translucent white porcelain paper clay which stands out for its high plasticity, what makes it exceptional for modelling. It is especially designed for creating impossible shapes with porcelain. The presence of paper fibres inside avoid formation of cracks and deformations problems. Its formula is very stable and provides a secure firing range between 1230 and 1270ºC. Available in extruded body. Presented in a practical 5 kg cylindrical format with double packaging. Two of the 5 kg packages are included for a total of 10 kgs.

FAQ for Cellulain clay, with answers provided by SIO-2®
What is Paper Porcelain?
Paper porcelain is a specialty clay that has paper fibers mixed into the body. The paper provides a higher plasticity than typical porcelain clays.
Why choose Cellulain®?
Cellulain® is specially formulated to allow potters the ability to craft extremely thin or complicated objects without cracking or deformation.
Is Cellulain® clay suitable for tableware?
Yes. Cellulain® clay bodies are food-safe according to ISO 6486:1999 standards.
Can I use this clay on a pottery wheel?
Cellulain® clay is great for both wheel throwing and modelling.
For biscuit firing, it says to fire at Cone 06. What’s the reason for this? I’m used to biscuit firing at Cone 04, is this temperature OK?
Yes, absolutely. Cone 05-04 is perfect for the biscuit of Cellulain.
I’m in search of a paper porcelain for creating flatware. Is Cellulain prone to warping?
Cellulain porcelain allows to create more complex pieces compared to conventional porcelain (Aneto). However, when fired, it retains some porosity that reduces its mechanical resistance, which can be a drawback for flatware. Regarding deformation, the contraction during firing is similar to conventional porcelains (Aneto) so the deformation should also be similar. Our recommendation is to try because there are many aspects, beyond the nature of the clay itself, that influence the final result.
